The City of Litchfield is going to apply to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for grant funds to work on homes of low-income, owner-occupied homes. This grant would allow us to repair or replace items such as electrical, plumbing, windows, doors, roofs, furnaces and air conditioners, floors, siding etc. If awarded and accepted as a recipient, all the work is done free of charge to the homeowner. For the City to make a competitive application, the City must show that there is interest in the program. The application form is available at City Hall in the Economic Development or Mayor’s Offices. Applications are also available by clicking the link below. Applications can be returned to the Litchfield Economic Development Office in City Hall.
An informational meeting will be scheduled later to answer any questions that you may have about the program. The City recently completed a grant cycle, assisting 11 Litchfield residents with $542,000 in CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Grant funds.
